A JOINT CONFERENCE OF THE

NEW ZEALAND NIR SPECTROSCOPY SOCIETY
AND THE

AUSTRALIAN NIR SPECTROSCOPY GROUP

For the first time, the conference was organised jointly by ANISG and the New Zealand Near Infrared Spectroscopy Society (NZNIRSS), and was held at a spectacular lakefront location within easy walking distance of the Queenstown city centre, in the south island of New Zealand.

The conference brought together NIR researchers, students and users of the technology from a wide variety of backgrounds and applications in Australia and New Zealand, as well as the major suppliers of NIR equipment and software, to discuss and view current developments.

Two separate one-day short courses preceded the meeting.  On Sunday 15th April, Mr Andre Kok conducted a course entitled  “NIR: the basics and beyond”.  On Monday 16th April, Dr Kim Esbensen conducted a course entitled  “NIR sampling strategies”.
